Our sweet Chulo passed away this afternoon.
He stopped eating and drinking yesterday morning. Today he couldn't stand and was laboring for breath. The vets came right to our house and told us that he was dying. They quickly put him to sleep. It was very peaceful.
I can't stop crying but I know he's happy and his suffering is over. The kids are quite teary and upset about it, but they knew it was coming. In fact we prayed as a family just two days ago that if it was time for Chulo to die, Heavenly Father would take him.
Tonight we gathered as a family outside on the lawn in Chulo's favorite spot. We talked about our favorite memories of Chulo and the lessons that we learned from him - loyalty, faithfulness, trust and unconditional love.
He blessed our lives for 13 years. We'll miss him very much.
